Trail Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail is a grassroots, community organization working to convert the underutilized Bloomingdale freight railroad embankment into an elevated, multi-use public trail.

Friends of the Highline

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and reuse of the High Line, an elevated rail structure on the West Side of Manhattan.

 

La Promenade Plantee

La promenade plantée traverse tout le 12e arrondissement de Paris dans sa longueur (4,5 km). Elle emprunte le trajet d’une ancienne voie ferrée dont le trafic a cessé en 1969. La gare terminus était à la Bastille à l’emplacement actuel de l’opéra, les trains allaient jusqu’à Saint-Maur là où il y a maintenant le RER A.

Rails to Trails Conservancy

RTC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with more than 100,000 members and supporters. Founded in 1986, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is located in Washington, D.C. and has offices in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Walkers, cyclists, and other trail advocates have joined forces around an audacious project, a 2,600 mile traffic-free path linking East Coast cities from Maine to Florida. Launched only 10 years ago, this vision for an urban alternative to the highly popular Appalachian Trail is quickly becoming a reality.

The East Coast Greenway is a network of 2,600 miles of multi-use trails connecting all major cities from the Maine/Canadian border to Key West, Florida. Touted as the urban alternative to the Appalachian Trail, the Greenway aims to provide a combustible engine-free route for local and long-term travel up and down the East Coast.
